  • I have extensive experience of interpreting during international conferences, seminars, workshops and meetings with OECD and EU officials, and translating documents relating to European Union programmes, projects and initiatives. My first employment after graduation was with the Czechoslovak News Agency; where I worked as a translator in the „export“ department. In 1974 the agency sent me for half a year to its London branch, where my chief task was researching the British press. Soon after returning to Prague I left the News Agency, as I was put under political pressure, and went freelance.Ever since then, I have been self-employed, with the only exception of five years in a part-time job with the UNESCO-sponsored European Centre for Leisure and Education (administratively attached to the Sociological Institute of the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences).
